Symphonic Distribution as gotten some information that Apple has informed music labels that they will be extending content previews to 90 seconds, a 300% increase from the original preview time. Technically, this increase will only be applied to the United States iTunes Store specifically for content that is at least two minutes and thirty seconds long. Anything that is under those standards will continue to be previewed for only thirty seconds.

We are pleased to let you know that we are preparing to increase the length of music previews from 30 seconds to 90 seconds on the iTunes Store in the United States. We believe that giving potential customers more time to listen to your music will lead to more purchases.
It seems as though the labels are okay with the new terms being that Apple precisely notes in the email that any record label who does not agree with the new conditions and terms must withdraw all of their content from the iTunes Store. iTunes has been one of the elite distributor of content in the world consecutively for some time now, selling more material than the “Big Three” music and movie retailers which consist of Target, Best Buy and Wal-Mart.
