Well there has been plenty of news to come rolling out right at the beginning of the week. One of the latest developments is built around the new Apple TV (speculated to be rebranded as iTV). Founder of Digg, Kevin Rose, chimed in via his blog by saying that the new set top box from Apple is going to “change everything.”

From what I hear we should expect to see the iTV launch in September.”

“With Apple’s iAds, content producers (eg. ABC/NBC/etc.) can directly monetize and distribute their content,” he said. “This will eventually destroy the television side of the cable and satellite industry, as your only requirement to access these on-demand stations will be an internet connection. Say goodbye to your monthly cable bill.”

In addition to that, he also stated that the new iTV was going to be priced at $99, which is the same amount that experts on the matter forecasted. The new Apple TV will also be losing the self-entitled software and adopting the revolutionary iOS platform. Owners will be able to access the App Store and run applications right in their living room. Speaking of iOS, Kevin also mentioned that Apple is also going to enable the ipad to be a choice of remote control for the new set-top box. User will be granted in-depth control with iPad including controlling applications and experiencing “interactive television” features. Rose gives the example of watching a football game a numerous angles all with a tap on your iPad. A feature that will allow users to share their personal content “at the push of a button” will also be included in the software. Users will be given an update when new content it available for viewing. He didn’t go out of his way to mention Apple’s new competition in the market, more precisely Google, and their Google TV set-top box and integrated television service set to take off this fall.

Also, keep an eye on GoogleTV – this is going to be a hot space in 2011.”

The space seems to be heating up indeed. Apple has been expected to debut their apparently revolutionary new development at their annual iPod-oriented event in September. Aside from the iTV spark, naturally, Apple is also expected to showcase another creation that the public is also waiting to see the new iPod touch. As far as these mentioning for the new Apple TV/iTV, we don’t know what to make of it. Kevin could actually have a source that’s giving him the beef and broccoli behind what’s going on in that department for Apple. He has rang in before about rumors of Apple’s plans to dazzle the world and they have been hit and misses. However, like we said, their has been some hits from him. We have to say that we are now really anxious to see what this is going to be about. We all won’t have to wait too long. September is just around the corner…
